Description:

United States, New York, ca. 1900s CE. A matching pair of handmade Roycroft candle sconces, hammered by hand with a simple back panel, the center is slightly convex with a stamped outline. Both are marked with the Roycroft logo, which is a stylized "R" within a circle and a double barred cross. The rounded curls on the end of the "R" are indicative these were probably made between 1906-1910. Roycrofters, a group of artisans who were part of the Roycroft movement founded by Elbert Hubbard in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, were known for their meticulous craftsmanship during the Arts and Crafts movement. Roycroft items are highly collectible for their quality and historical significance. Size: 3.2" L x 2.5" W x 8" H (8.1 cm x 6.4 cm x 20.3 cm)
