Description:

Native American, Western United States, Great Basin region, Ute, ca. 1900s CE. A pair of basketry cradleboards and cotton cloth dolls. The features and clothes of the smaller doll are gone, the body held in place by cotton cloth and some beading remains on the feet. There is a cord and leather sling strap attached to the verso of this cradle board. The larger doll has a lace cap and simple ink drawn face. The same indigo cloth trim is used on both sunshades of the cradles, and these matching boards and dolls are probably by the same maker. Size: 18" L x 7" W x 6.5" H (45.7 cm x 17.8 cm x 16.5 cm)
