Southeast Asia, Thailand, ca. 18th to early 19th century CE. A collection of 5 silver currency pieces known as bullet money or bullet coins, the silver ingot bent into a rounded shape, the thick part stamped with 2 marks (chakra wheel and trident) from King Rama I's reign (1782 - 1809). These coins where valued based on their weight using the bhat (tical) unit of measurements. Size of largest: 0.58" Diameter (1.5 cm); silver quality: 94.5% to 98.1%; total combined weight: 49.8 grams

Provenance: private Charlotte, North Carolina, USA collection; ex-Joel Malter collection, prior to 2004
