Southeast Asia, Thailand, late Ayutthaya Period, ca. 18th century CE. A fine and beautifully detailed cast brass head of Buddha, with a large, multi-tiered ushnisha atop his head indicating that he has attained Enlightenment. Depicted with a round face and serene features, the Buddha's pronounced brow line and distinctive crown are characteristics particular to the Ayutthaya period. A lovely example. Size: 5" H (12.7 cm); 6.7" H (17 cm) on included custom stand.
