Description:

Central Asia, Pakistan, Sikh Empire period, ca. 18th to early 19th century CE. An incredible, solid cast silver figure of the goddess Lakshmi, depicted as a beautiful woman seated in a cross-legged fashion upon a lotus throne. She has four arms, one raised in blessing, one palm out in a peaceful gesture, and the other two raised and holding lotus flowers. Her clothing is beautiful and ornate, her face gorgeous, and she wears a conical headdress that indicates her royal status. The statue is fully carved on all sides, and turning her to look at her back reveals her intricately braided hair in relief. Lakshmi is a fitting choice for a solid silver statue, as she is the goddess of wealth of all kinds - not just material wealth, but also the wealth of fame and family. Size: 2.55" W x 3.7" H (6.5 cm x 9.4 cm); 485.2 grams
