Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, Inuit, ca. 18th century CE or earlier. A hand-carved adze blade with a sturdy tang, a thick body, and a tapered blade head with a sharpened edge. The smoothness along the edge suggests this tool was heavily used for utilitarian purposes and was perhaps used as a hand tool or as a tool affixed to a lengthy wooden handle. Size: 4.75" L x 1.3" W (12.1 cm x 3.3 cm)
