Description:

**First Time At Auction**

Central Europe, ca. 18th century CE. A large and impressive ceremonial iron double-axe head with a central pike and stacked round discs of iron connecting each axe blade to the pike. A very narrow socket allows the weapon to be attached to a pole. The surface of one side has very finely incised designs of stars and moons that may not be contemporary with the creation of the weapon, but certainly provide flourishes added by the owner. Comes with custom stand. Size: 12.2" W x 17.35" H (31 cm x 44.1 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Young Collection, New Hampshire
