Description:

**Originally Listed At $400**

Central Asia, India, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A fabulous cast-bronze depiction of Brahma, the Creator of the Universe, and the first of the Hindu Triumvirate (or Trimurti) along with Vishnu and Shiva. Brahma sits in a lotus position atop an integral square base, his broad chest jutting out behind his hands in the Shanti Mudra (or invocation of peace) position. His serene visage is framed by large, pierced ears and a narrow triangular beard, with a lobed cylindrical top knot and a lotus disc behind his head. With intricate details and lustrous brown patina embellishing all sides, this is a wonderfully-depicted figure of the Creator of the Universe! Size: 2.75" H (7 cm).
