Description:

Central Asia, India, ca. 18th century CE. A finely cast bronze figure of a Hindu deity dressed in elaborate vestments and headdress and holding a vajra in her right hand. She sits upon a tiered pedestal adorned with a lotus pattern. The details are extensive and skillfully executed, and the bronze has attained a beautiful green and russet patina. Notice the pair of perforations at the back corners of the pedestal/throne; these were possibly intended for the insertion of incense or an attachment. Size: 2.5" H (6.4 cm)
