Description:

South Pacific, Hawaiian Islands, ca. 18th century CE. Hand-carved from hardwood and presents with an elongated ovoid form. The broad midsection tapers gradually to form two pointed terminals, and a singular hole is drilled through the midsection with a square mortise on one side. Each terminal bears a shallow midrib that rises slowly towards the terminals for increasing the grip of the wielder, and the lustrous surfaces bear smooth textures throughout. Size: 20.25" L x 1.75" W (51.4 cm x 4.4 cm); 4.9" H (12.4 cm) on included custom stand.
