Description:

Western Europe, France, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A beautiful pair of cast brass candlesticks with an overall triangular presentation. The feet are presented as abstract, three-toed paws - each surmounted with the head of a bearded man, and the sides in-between each foot display concentric ovals flanked by drooping swaths of fruit and flowers. The base of each stick is an upside-down, multi-petaled flower, and a flared separation disc rests below a cylindrical candle receptacle adorned with foliate and fleur-de-lis motifs. An exemplary set of fine French craftsmanship! Size: 4" W x 5.8" H (10.2 cm x 14.7 cm).
