East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A charming hand carved quartz crystal deer pendant charm with a suspension hole bored through the center to wear as a pendant. The simple features and antlers are incised and cut into the surface of the recumbent stag. Deer played a role in several Buddhist stories and the graceful animal represented longevity as well as prosperity and good health. Size: 1.8" L x 0.5" W x 1" H (4.6 cm x 1.3 cm x 2.5 cm)
