Europe, United Kingdom, Georgian London, ca. late 18th century CE. Four antique sterling silver pieces from a tea service: two teapots, a sugar bowl, and a cream jug. All have ribbed decoration on their bodies and floral decoration on their rims. The sugar bowl and cream jug also have floral decoration on their handles and have gilt interiors. The two teapots both have decorative handles with leaves on them. The taller of the two stands on an integrated, pedestal-like base. All bear silver marks showing that they are sterling from London; the cream jug, sugar bowl, and smaller teapot appear to be from the same set and have a stamp for 1778, while the larger teapot is stamped 1779 with the maker's mark "RP." The cream jug has a maker's mark stamped on it, but it is difficult to read. Both teapots have small ivory spacers as part of their hinged handles; both also have hinged lids. - Condition: Undersides have small, shallow scratches and some incised, handwritten marks. Ivory components have patina and wear commensurate with age. Patina on ungilded interiors. Kept in nice condition with some very light scratching from cleaning it.
