South America, Bolivia, Aymara people, Colonial Period, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A hand-carved wood bowl with a pair of stylized bulls yoked together carved into the center- all from a single piece of wood. Traditionally marriage bowls with pairs of oxen are used during weddings to collect money for the newlyweds or to toast with chicha (corn beer). Size: 11.5" Diameter x 3.5" H (29.2 cm x 8.9 cm)

- Condition: Areas of white mold on the surface that could be treated to prevent spreading. Patina and mineral buildup throughout. Lacquer / dried substance added to the exterior sides near handles. Old wear and chips to handles and rim. Overall good condition with signs of heavy use and age.
