Native American, Alaska, Fort Wrangel, Tlingit, ca. 1890 CE. A splendid, hand-carved wood spoon or ladle with a graceful, sloping bowl and an intricate totem-like handle adorned with 8 lustrous nacre shell inlays that form the eyes of the animals. The underside of the shoulder is inscribed "Fort Wrangle / Alaska - / June 20, 1890." Size: 11" L x 2.5" W (27.9 cm x 6.4 cm)
