Description:

Southern Europe, Italy, ca. 17th century CE. A wonderful halberd with a sturdy wooden handle secured within a tapered socketing shaft with a pair of screws. The iron head features a crescent-shaped axe blade, a protruding hook with a rounded tip and a curling decorative hook above, and a lengthy spear blade on top. A fringe of yellow ochre tassels delineates the wooden handle from the axe head and provides an elegant personalized presentation. Imbuing the halberd with even more charm is a fine patina that envelops each component. Size: 6.625" W x 85.25" H (16.8 cm x 216.5 cm).
