Italy, purchased in Florence, Italy in 1946, ca. 1600 to 1700 CE. Silver reliquary containing relics from 5 Saints. Oval silver case with golden filigree inside and twisted silver rigaree on the exterior. Inside are small bits of bone from St. Francis Xaurius the Confessor; St. Francis "Boug" - a saint we can't identify, another 3 relics with unknown names and a relic from a king - "Reg. C". Official seal of the Vatican in wax on back. Receipt from Antichita, Giorgio Astronomi, "Firenze" with the lot. Size: 1.875" W x 2.5" H (4.8 cm x 6.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex - Morgan collection acquired in Florence in 1946.
