Most likely western European, but found in the United Kingdom, ca 16th to 17th century. Pair of very interesting bronze fittings, possibly furniture or carriage decorations, each similar in form of a youthful emperor, head wearing laurel wreath, wearing military tunic, and each with deep brown patina. On the back of each is a very old pair of handmade iron screws heavily rusted and one missing for centuries. Each measures 4"H. Custom mounted. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of M. Jones, York, England. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
