East Asia, China, late Ming to early Qing Dynasty, ca. 17th to 18th century CE. A stunning teacup, hand-carved from black nephrite jade with lovely gray, almond, and caramel-hued inclusions. Sitting upon a ring-form foot, the hemispherical vessel features rounded walls and a scroll handle carved on the flat top with a taotie mask. The exterior is meticulously sculpted with imagery of trees, mountains, and flowers. Size: 3.8" W x 1.75" H (9.7 cm x 4.4 cm)
