Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya period, ca. 1522 to 1563 CE. A beautiful pottery bowl enveloped in light green-gray glaze adorned with rows of floral or starburst motifs of darker pigment, outlined with horizontal striations. The vessel itself has rounded walls that rise to a flared rim, all supported by a ring-form foot. Lovely craquelure to glaze with faint areas of iridescence! Size: 7.3" Diameter x 3.3" H (18.5 cm x 8.4 cm)

Bowls of similar form and design can be found at the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art under accession numbers S2005.285 and S2005.302.
