Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Anamese, ca. 1500 CE. An elegant ensemble of 6 ceramic dishes, all adorned with blue-painted decoration of phoenixes and phytomorphic motifs atop a lustrous white glaze. Each dish sits upon a ring-form foot with walls that curve upwards and outwards to broad rims. Though all the vessels present unglazed feet, 2 are also unglazed on their center basins, while the remaining 4 only display sizeable rings of bare terracotta on their interiors. Size of largest: 11.5" Diameter x 2.4" H (29.2 cm x 6.1 cm)

One dish (second most petite) in this lot has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available to the buyer upon request.
