Description:

Latin America, Mexico, Spanish Colonial era, ca. 1682 CE. A rare set of paper legal documents handwritten in Spanish. Official seals and Spanish National coat of arms are stamped at the top of both, and the printed title translated reads: "Sellotercero, un real" translated as "Third Seal, One Real" in refence to the currency and the cost of the paper. The spidery handwriting is legible and the paper is sizable, folded in half with holes along the crease that suggest this was bound in a book. This document is in good condition for its age and mounted in a protective glass and wood frame. Size (document): 16.75" L x 12.25" W (42.5 cm x 31.1 cm); (frame): 21.5" L x 18" W (54.6 cm x 45.7 cm)
