Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Colima and Michoacan, ca. 300 BCE to 500 CE. Interesting grouping of 16 obsidian points, spear tips and micro blades. Made of natural volcanic glass and painstakingly knapped and formed. Mounted with Elmer's glue on textile covered board that could be easily removed with warm water. Size: largest measures 4-3/8"L. Provenance: Ex-private Martine collection, Centennial, CO, acquired by family descent in 2002; previously acquired by relatives in Mexico in 1950's and brought into United States in early 1970's.
