Description:

East Asia, China, Tang Dynasty, ca. 618 to 907 CE. A fine gathering of 16 leaded-bronze belt components cast using a series of intricate molds to create raised decorations within the centers. Ten of the rectangular panels bear five ovoid phytomorphic forms within the recessed obverse, and four panels exhibit large, singular floral motifs. Two elongated rectangular panels each have one rounded side with one showing seven petite ovoid forms surrounded by curvilinear tendrils and the other with a pair of abstract flowers similar to those in the petite panels. Size of largest: 3.3" L x 1.7" W (8.4 cm x 4.3 cm)
