Description:

Southeast Asia, modern day Vietnam, Anamese (sometimes Annamese), ca. 15th to 17th century CE. A beautiful piriform pottery bottle with a corseted conical neck and an elegantly flared lip. The decoration across the exterior is painted in the renowned blue-on-white method and depicts a pair of lovely songbirds within a minimalist floral program including wild grasses and flowing dandelion - it appears to be a quiet a windy day for these two! A beautiful scene in a charming form that is sure to impress. A nice craquelure accents the whole of the surface. Size: 5.5" W x 10.65" H (14 cm x 27.1 cm)
