Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, Sukhothai Period, ca. 14th to 16th century CE. A pleasing pottery jar presenting a bulbous, 2-tiered form that tapers to a narrow, gently flared spout, flanked by a petite pair of loop handles. The simple yet elegant vessel is enveloped in a rich, celadon glaze that covers that beautifully contrasts the bare, red terracotta of the rounded base and ring-shaped foot. Note the lovely craquelure on the glaze that beautifully complements the color and form of the ancient vessel! Size: 3.9" Diameter x 7.8" H (9.9 cm x 19.8 cm)
