Description:

Southeast Asia, Thailand, ca. 14th century CE. A finely cast bronze head depicting the Buddha of Compassion with a tranquil expression, an elegant crown with sinuous detailing, and a large ushnisha symbolic of his divine wisdom and enlightenment. The serene countenance is most impressive with closed, almond shaped eyes, gracefully arched brows, and a subtle smile. The bronze has aged so gracefully. Just look at that gorgeous green patina! Size: 3" W x 5" H (7.6 cm x 12.7 cm)
