Central Asia, Persia, Kashan period, ca. 13th century CE. A fascinating terracotta dish used for serving sweet meats comprised of 7 shallow bowls conjoined in a circle of 6 with 1 at the center, adorned by applied arrow-shaped strips, annular nodules, and a lustrous, seafoam green-hued glaze. Note how the openings between the vessels form a 6-pointed star, highlighted by the pointed ornaments that extend out from the peripheries. Size: 7.9" L x 7.6" W x 1.5" H (20.1 cm x 19.3 cm x 3.8 cm)
