Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, East Java, Majapahit culture, ca. 1294 to 1478 CE. A pair of mold-formed pottery figures, a male and a female, depicted in characteristically stylized form. The female presents kneeling with a skirt covering her knees, arms placed neatly atop her lap, and her raised head adorned with diamond-shaped eyes and a crested coiffure. The larger male figure stands atop sturdy legs, holds one hand out in a gesture of offering, and has a tiered coiffure atop his upright head. Size of larger (male): 3.25" W x 8.625" H (8.3 cm x 21.9 cm)
