Description:

Southeast Asia, Thailand, Khmer to Sukhothai, ca. 12th to 13th century CE. A group of 9 leaded bronze of large rings or hoops, either closed or slightly open. Most have at least a half inch gap between the terminal tips, and the smallest band has the tips pushed together, touching. These rings were allegedly discovered in an configuration that suggested they were parts of a ship’s mast rigging. The thick bands are each encrusted with a thick green and pale blue patina from over the centuries! Size of largest ring: 4" Diameter x 0.25" W (10.2 cm x 0.6 cm)

Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010
