Western/Central Europe, probably England, Medieval period, ca. 12th to 15th century CE. A fine set of four crossbow bolts displaying wooden shafts with forged-steel tips and fletching. Each bolt features a petaloid tip atop a slender, cylindrical shaft with a pair of fin-shaped fletching flanking its base. The smooth bodies of each bolt boast a natural woodgrain in a shade of chocolate brown, while each tip and fletching has a deep grey hue accented by russet-colored patina. Size of largest: 17.6" L x 1.1" W (44.7 cm x 2.8 cm)
