Middle East to Central Asia, Islamic culture, ca. 12th to 13th century CE. A wheel-thrown pottery ceramic bowl glazed with a pale yellow-green hue that showcases darker Arabic text around the exterior as well as within the basin. The bowl presents with a circular foot, tall walls that flare outwards towards the top, and a deep basin. Within the basin is an intricate calligraphy surrounded by a register of narrow script, and the exterior features several encircled lines of text with writing in-between as well as above along the rim.
