Medieval Near East, Persia, Khorasan (northeastern Iran), Afghanistan, and Northern India, Ghaznavid Dynasty, Seljuk (also Seljuq) period, ca. 12th century CE. A beautiful brass bowl with a myriad of incised zoomorphic details across the walls and basin. The slanted walls are adorned with an assortment of creatures in striding poses in front of foliate forms, and the basin presents an abstract bird-rabbit creature in the middle of flowing foliate motifs and broad text. Wonderful russet patina envelops the entire vessel. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 7.1" W x 1.2" H (18 cm x 3 cm)
