Description:

Middle East / Near East, Islamic World, ca. 11th to 13th century CE. A pretty ceramic pitcher, well-proportioned, with a red body painted with black-on-white motifs. Around the widest part of the bulbous body is a wide black stripe; a similar stripe is around the narrowest part of the neck. Criss-cross patterns are on the narrow handle and the sloping shoulder. The mouth flares wide, with an unpronounced rim. Size: 6.5" W x 7.25" H (16.5 cm x 18.4 cm)
