Native American, United States, Archaic to Woodland period, ca. 1000 BCE to 1000 CE. A collection of 11 hand-knapped stone projectile points and tools made from chert stones in hues of creamy beige, gray, and brown. The largest points are bifacial ovoid blades with flattened faces, while the 2 large stemmed and notched points have thicker, convex faces, and are ideal for hafting onto a pole or handle as a spear or knife. The 6 midsized points have triangular blades with notched fins and stems, perfect for hafting to poles as spears. A great variety of forms that may have been for hunting, scraping, digging, or other purposes! Size of largest: 12.125" L x 16.125" W (30.8 cm x 41 cm); (case): 6.25" L x 2.25" W (15.9 cm x 5.7 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
