Near East, Persia (Iran), Nishapur area, ca. late 10th century to early 13th century CE. A remarkable ceramic bowl presenting with a discoid base and impressively thin walls that dramatically flare outward to a swollen body above two embossed rings and then inward and upward to a circular rim. Boasting a lustrous glaze of a rich robin egg blue hue and a triangle of 3 small raised embellishments in the center of its interior, this medieval vessel is a gorgeous example from Persian culture. Size: 5.125" W x 3.125" H (13 cm x 7.9 cm)
