Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, Colima, and Nayarit, ca. 500 BCE to 300 CE; Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE; Northwest Mexico, Chihuahua, Casas Grandes, Ramos, ca. 1250 to 1450 CE. A set of 10 vessels from around ancient Mesoamerica. The Chupicuaro vessels include a petite jar, a tripod bowl, and the largest jar. The West Mexican pieces consist of 3 Nayarit bowls and 1 Colima bowl. The orangeware Maya vessels have either exterior striations or a collared rim, and the Casas Grandes vessel exhibits a colorful band around the shoulder beneath a pair of handles. Size of largest: 6.6" Diameter x 7.125" H (16.8 cm x 18.1 cm)

Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966
